This coffee shop was our caffeine pitstop on the way to Six Flags Great Adventure for my three friends and me. We came on a Sunday morning at around 10 am. The store was empty and quiet, and we put in our drink orders on the kiosk to the right of the coffee bar. I got a lavender honey latte with oat milk and it had just the right amount of sweetness and gave me the perfect amount of energy for the day. The drink came out fast too, and we were back on the road within 10 minutes of stopping in.
Great. Low key service and great coffee! Short walk from hustle and bustle of central downtown yet close enough for an easy morning stroll.
Back in my RU days this was my favoriteeeee cafe. It's small, cozy, big tables, strong wife, and strong coffee. It is also the OG Hidden Grounds! So if you go to any of their other wonderful locations (Hoboken, JC, Brooklyn, even a little bit more down Easton Ave in NB) just know that this little *hidden* gem is where it all started. I've had everything from black coffee to tea to chai lattes over the years and it rarely disapoints. On my latest visit I was already on a caffeine surplus so I opted for a hot turmeric latte - just as lovely. I paired it with one of their rose donuts that I can never get enough of. It was a perfect weekday break. The baristas were kind and patient, as always! And the space is just as great as I remember, luckily for me just not as crowded. This is a can't miss in my opinion. Give them or their location, which is muchhhhhh more spacious, a try if you need a space to study, get work done and simply relax and catch up.
Another good experience at Hidden Grounds Coffee. I just recently found this place and have been here now several times. The drinks are always delicious and the customer service has been top notch. This is my new favorite coffee shop.
I absolutely love Hidden Grounds! I've been to four locations now, and each one is fantastic. The matcha is my go-to--always perfectly prepared. I'm also a huge fan of their chai, especially the rose chai, which has a unique and delightful flavor. Food-wise, I usually go for the everything bagel with cream cheese, cucumbers, and tomatoes, or one of their specialty donuts like the pistachio or rose donut. They always offer fun flavors and high-quality ingredients. Highly recommend if you're looking for great drinks especially a quality chai and creative bites! Great location with space to study or work from as well!
